"Super Concert II - A Birthday Bash"

Happy 15th anniversary to us! On this day 15 years ago, we played our first concert. Reminisce with us as we reprise several selections from that program. For added fun, the band will play "Highlights from Showboat," by Jerom Kern, "Movie Blockbusters" and our traditional Sousa march! We'll also showcase the two teams in the Super Bowl!

Sunday, March 30, 2008
3:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
Fresno City College Theatre

"Mostly Sousa"

You asked for it! By popular demand, we dedicate an entire concert to John Philip Sousa. We'll play some of his lesser-known works - "In the Land of the Golden Fleece," Gliding Girl Tango" and "Easter Monday on the White House Lawn," plus several of his marches and some music from other composers often played by Sousa's band. Featured soloist will be trombonist Eric Sherbon.

Sunday, May 25, 2008
3:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
Tower Theatre for the Performing Arts

"A Time to Remember"

Memorial Day -- a time to remember all those who have died serving our country. The band honors our armed forces by playing "A Tribute to Fighting Men" by Fresno composer, the late Russell Howland, "Chimes of Liberty" by Goldman, "A Prayer for Peace" by John Williams and other familiar patriotic melodies. Well-known vocalist Bob Bergthold will join us for the very first time performing a wide variety of vocal selections.
